Nursery Admissions 2024/2025

At Gade Valley Primary School children can start our Nursery in the September after their third birthday - this means they must turn 4 during the following dates - 1st September 2024 until
31st August 2025

Applications for Nursery 2024/25 open – 29th January 2024. Applications can be emailed to admin@gadevalley.herts.sch or handed into the school office.

Admission Arrangements

Gade Valley Primary School Nursery has one Nursery class and offer either 15 hours or 30 hours places.

 

15 hours funded (free)  

Morning Nursery 8.45am until 11.45 am. 

Option to pay for additional hours where space is available.
 

30 hour funded option - 8.45am to 2.45pm.

Further information will follow on the option to extended your 30 hours to 3.15pm.
Children staying for the 30 hour funding will need to bring their own packed lunch.

 

Where space is available we offer the following additional option:
 

30 Hour Non-Funded

8.45am until 11.45am free place.

11.45am until 2.45pm - Extended provision, which will incur an additional cost of £16.00.

11.45am until 3.15pm -  Extended provision, which will incur an additional cost of £18.50.

 

The hours are for term time only. The schools term dates are published on our website.

 

30 hours funded childcare for three and four year olds - Information

All parents and carers who have children aged three or four are entitled to 15 hours a week funded childcare. Working parents may be entitled to 30 hours a week.

To be eligible for the increased funded hours, each parent must:

earn at least £120 a week not earn £100,000 or more a year

People could still be eligible if they or their partner is on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, are unable to work if they have a disability or caring responsibilities. Single parents can also apply.

Successful applicants will receive a code which they then take to their chosen childcare provider as soon as possible. 

Parents must apply before the end of each school term to secure a place for the next term. Parents who already have an eligibility code, must reconfirm their eligibility for 30 hours every 3 months.

Funded childcare places are available at a range of early years settings including nursery schools, day nurseries, pre-schools and childminders.

Not eligible?

If you don't meet the criteria for extended funded childcare, all three and four-year-olds are still entitled to 15 hours of funded education at a range of childcare providers for 38 weeks of the year.
