Congratulations to Year 4 for winning Skip2BFit for the second year in a row! Well done.
Year 2 Sportshall Athletics Competition
On Tuesday 5th February, Year 2 attended an athletics competition. They performed lots of athletics events such as javelin, long jump, relay races and hurdles.
Year 5 and Year 6 Dodgeball
Last week 10 pupils from Year 5 and 10 pupils from Year 6 took part in dodgeball competitions. Both teams did very well working together and playing by the rules. A big well done to the Year 5 team who came 3rd overall!
Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 Tag Rugby
This half term Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 have been learning tag rugby by Hemel Stags. They have had lots of fun learning new skills, developing team work and understanding tag rugby rules.
KS2 District Cross Country
Well done to the children from Year 5 and Year 6 who took part in the District Cross Country on Thursday 18th October at Adeyfield School.
KS2 Cross Country
On Monday 8th October all of KS2 went to the Laureate Academy to take part in a cross country event. Well done to everyone who took part!
Bronze Ambassadors and Health Leaders
This year our new sports leaders are Isla, Liam, Megan and Oliver. They will be helping to run sports clubs as well as sorting out the PE notice board and PE cupboard/equipment.
Year 3 Sports Festival
Year 3 class took part in a sports festival at The Laureate Academy. They were split into different sports; athletics, boccia, tennis, football and high five netball. Well done to the athletics team who game first and to everyone for coming 3rd place overall!
Year 4 Sports Festival
On Thursday 27th September Year 4 class competed in a sports festival against other local schools. They all did fantastically well, especially the boccia team who came first! They also competed in football, tennis, high five netball and athletics. They came 4th overall!
Year 5 Sports Festival
On Tuesday 10th July Year 5 class went to Cavendish, representing Brazil, to take part in a sports festival against other local schools. They competed in one sport each; doubles tennis, basketball, boccia, table tennis or athletics. They all had an amazing time coming 4th overall, and a big well done to the basketball team who came 1st!

Sports Week 2018
Foundation Stage Olympic Festival
Reception class had lots of fun representing France in an Olympic Festival on Monday 26th June. They took part in lots of different activities from space hoppers to throwing.
Year 2 Sports Festival
On Friday 25th May Year 2 went to Sports Space to take part in a multisport festival. We had to represent a country and we chose Italy! The children had lots of fun learning new skills.
Storm Basketball
Over the past two weeks KS2 had the pleasure of Strom Basketball coming in during PE. They really enjoyed it and learnt lots of new skills!
Year 3 Tri Golf
On Thursday 3rd May Year 3 went to Cavendish School to take part in a Tri Golf competition. They did really well coming 3rd overall, competing against local schools.
Year 1 Sports Fayre
On Friday 27th March, Year 1 took part in a sports fayre competing against other local schools. They did different actiivities from speed stacking to basketball. They did really well and had lots of fun doing so. Well done.
Sports Relief Week 2018
500 Miles
A massive congratulations and thank you to all pupils, staff and parents who contributed to the 500 miles for Sports Relief. We completed the 3500th lap at 2:45pm!!
Sports Relief Week 2018
For Sports Relief this week, children are taking part in different sporting activities every lunch time. These activities are as follows;
- Hula Hoop Monday - how long can you do it for?
- Skip-a-thon Tuesday - how long can you do it for?
- Wet Wednesday - relay race with a cup of water
- Boogie Thursday - dance competition
- Footie Friday - penalty shoot out
On Friday the whole school, including staff and parents before school, have set a target to compete 500 miles collectively around our track. This is a total of 3500 laps!
Girls Football Tournament
Well done to our girls football team for taking part in a football tournament at Cavendish School or Friday 16th March. They all played very well, unfortunately just missing out on going through to the next round.
Skip2BFit
Massive congratulations to both year 3 and year 4 classes for winning the Skip2Bfit competition for their year groups!
Year 2 Sports Fayre
Year 2 class took a part in a sports fayre on Thursday 25th January. They completed in different activates from dance to tri golf.
Year 5 Dodgeball
On Wednesday 24th January some of the year 5 students we to Cavendish School to take part in a dodgeball competition. They did really well competing against 4 other schools.
Skipping Workshop
On Tuesday 17th October all the children took part in a skipping workshop. Each class got taught how to do a basic skip and then learn some tricks, such as the Flaming skip, the Pretzel skip and Double Dutch. The children enjoyed the day and will hopefully be skipping more!
KS2 Cross Country
A huge well done to all KS2 children for taking part in the cross country events over the past week. A big congratulations to the year 4 boys who came 2nd overall!
Sports Ambassadors
On Monday 9th October our new Sports Ambassadors went to Hatfield Sports Village for their training. We have two new Bronze Ambassadors; Lewis and Caitlin and two new Health and Active Leaders; Kody and Grace. They learnt lots of new skills such as team building, leadership training, presentation skills and how to deliver workshops and festivals.
Year 6 Table Tennis
On Monday 2nd October four year 6 boys took part in a Table Tennis Competition playing against 9 other local schools! The boys did very well and came 5th overall.
On Wednesday 4th October four year 6 girls took part in their Table Tennis Competition. The girls did very well coming 3rd out of 6 schools.
Year 4 Sports Festival
Our Year 4 class attended the Sports Festival at Cavendish on Tuesday 26th September, where they played lots of different sports – football, netball, bocca, athletics and tennis. They competed against lots of other local schools and we are proud to say they won the athletics!
Well Done to our Girls' Netball team on their final tournament representing Gade Valley School.
We had our first Gade Valley vs Yewtree Festival of Sport. The children in Years 4 and 5 competed in a football and netball tournament. We had a fantastic time and would like to thank Yewtree for participating in this fantastic event- we really enjoyed all the games and every child showed great sportsmanship and enthusiasm (even in the hot weather!)
A HUGE congratulations to the undefeated girls' football team!! Having beaten Hammond to win the league, they are now through to the Quarter Finals!
The girls netball team beat Galley Hill on Thursday 2nd February. Well Done to all involved, you played as a team and showed some great netball skills.
On Friday 3rd February, after a hard fought game, the girls' netball team came from behind to draw with Kings Langley.
On Monday 6th February, the boys fought hard and defended well, however were unlucky to lose to a very strong Hammond Academy team. Well Done to all involved!
