Good Morning Year 3,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Myself and Mrs O’Beirne were having a chat on Friday about what we missed about not being at school (there were so many things!) but one of the big things was our time sharing a book with you. So we thought that we would have a class book, and we have chosen:

Each day, you will be completing a reading comprehension task based on “The Hodgeheg”. Myself and Mrs O’Beirne will be reading a chapter each to you and there is also a copy of the chapter in the documents section (please do not print out the whole book- it is very long!) You can use this text to help answer the questions. Hopefully we’ll all enjoy sharing this book together!

I hope you all watched Friday’s Daily briefing (and enjoyed my first time filming it!) and heard my cheer when we were announced as the TT Rockstars Winners!!! A MASSIVE congratulations to all of you for working so hard throughout the week to get such a high number of coins collected- 226,442. An extra well done to Kevin Wiley – 39,750 Jojo Santana – 26,145 Tommy Bullet – 24,739 for their very incredible coins collected totals! I was very impressed with Tommy and Louis’ Oompa Loompa challenge answers that Mrs Steadman read out in Friday’s briefing.

Remember to watch today's briefing (it will be online between 4pm and pm)- Click here.If you have any questions that you want us to answer in the daily briefings, please email them to year3@gadevalley.herts.sch.uk

Finally, something new that hopefully the whole school will contribute to. We would like to make a bunting slideshow to celebrate the V.E.Day 75th anniversary. You or your family need to make an A4 sized decorated bunting shape, which you could decorate however you wish. Take a photo of yourselves holding it and send to nursery@gadevalley.herts.sch.uk, by the end of Wednesday please.

Please continue to send me pictures of work that you are  particularly proud of, videos, Powerpoints and messages to: year3@gadevalley.herts.sch.uk, seeing everything you are up to really does make me smile!

Good morning Year 3,

WOW what an incredible Gade Valley Got's Talent video! Make sure that you watch it. I was so amazed at everyone’s talents especially Year 3. What a talented class you are, and hopefully when we get back to school we can teach each other our new skills that we have been working on!

I am sure that you have all heard of the incredible hero, Captain Tom Moore. He has raised millions of pounds for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday. It really is an incredible story! Today is his 100th Birthday, so Happy Birthday Captain Tom Moore (Wow what a birthday to celebrate!)

In yesterday's  Gade Valley Daily Briefing  , Mr Barron talked about having a 'glass half full' attitude and how important it is to be positive and optimistic. It has been really lovely to hear how well you are coping in this strange time. Sometimes we have down days, and I just wanted to remind you all how proud I am of everything you are doing! You are all incredible and I am truly inspired everyday by you and the brilliant things that you achieve every day. Your parents have been so wonderful to help and support you with all of your learning, I cannot thank them enough. The ways that you are showing your CHAMP skills in everything that you do and how you have all developed such a positive growth mindset- you are truly amazing!

We have our next battle on TT Rockstars against Year 5 today- let's see if we can win 3 out of 3! Remember to login between 10:00am and 11:00am!

Finally, we have a special reading challenge that was mentioned in the briefing. The Oompa Loompa challenge is to write a review of a book in less than 5 words! Please see the Golden Tickets Page for more information. Here's mine: "Ugly people doing evil tricks" Can you guess what book I mean? I can't wait to hear some of yours.

Please continue to send me pictures of work that you are  particularly proud of to: year3@gadevalley.herts.sch.uk, seeing the pictures really does make me smile! Have a lovely day.

Keep safe and well, remember you are all amazing!
