House Points

The House point system at Gade Valley has been revamped.

Family groups will be replaced by five houses (Cook, Drake, Raleigh, Scott, Fiennes). The Houses have been named after notable British Explorers as they would have possessed many important characteristics in facing challenge and succeeding with new discoveries.

Each child in the school will be placed in a house group (siblings will be together). The Houses will be led principally by children in years 5 and 6. In addition, each house will have two teachers who will be the Heads of the House: they will oversee meetings and boost the profile of each house. Heads of Houses will be drawn in an assembly each year through the sorting hat.

House points will be given out for good behaviour, courtesy, attitude, CHAMP skills and good work. Each week, in sharing assembly, a trophy will be awarded to the House with the most points for that week. The trophy will be displayed (with the house colours) in the entrance area. Children will receive a certificate in celebration assembly for every one hundred house points that they receive.

The House system will be used for many different activities in schools such as, sport competitions, fundraising and assemblies.
